Our Goal
As Christians, we are driven by our core belief in the Gospel Of Jesus Christ: we believe that we have sinned, or disobeyed God. There is nothing we can do to make-up for our sin. Jesus was sent into the world to die on the cross to take the penalty for sin. Then, Jesus rose again, conquering sin and death. All those who turn from their sin and believe in Jesus will be saved!
Because of this truth of the gospel, our goal is to know God and to follow all He has commanded.
As we strive to do these things, we believe that the following are important:
Knowing The Word of God, The Bible
-
In order to know the Bible well, we believe that the best type of teaching is expositional, or verse-by-verse through the scriptures.
-
This year, there are been series through books of 1 Timothy and Ruth.
Prayer
-
We believe that prayer, or communion with God, is important.
-
This is one of the reasons we have our Wednesday prayer service each week.
Holiness
-
We desire to live holy lives that are pleasing to God.
Sharing The Gospel With Others
-
We believe in being obedient to the great commission in sharing the Gospel with others.
-
Our goal is to be a church that is out-ward looking.
-
This is part of the reason why we have various outreach ministries.
"And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'"
Matthew 28:18-20
